Cleveland news anchor, Leon Bibb (a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal) remembers the hellish times of war in Vietnam. He says in his article,”I always thought about the medals I was due for my service in the Army, but for one reason or another, never received.”
U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, democrat from Ohio came to the rescue and contacted the Department of Defense and Leon received The Vietnam Service medal and a medal from the then Republic of South Vietnam.
“Go to our website — Brown.senate.gov — and let us know if you think you’re eligible,” Brown said. “We’ll call the Department of Defense.” All US senators and congressman have the means to get medals for service members who have them coming to them. Awards can be given as replacements if the originals were lost or destroyed.
Thank you to U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown for honoring our veterans. Thank you Leon Bibb for your service to our country.
